ISO 21001:2025 is the international management system standard specifically developed for educational organizations. It provides a structured Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) framework that helps schools, universities, colleges, training institutes, e-learning providers and other organizations delivering education or training manage their educational processes consistently and with a strong focus on learners and other beneficiaries.
NORMEIRA provides independent third-party ISO 21001 certification services for educational organizations in the UAE. As a certification body, our role is to audit the implemented Educational Organizations Management System against the applicable requirements of ISO 21001:2025 and make an independent certification decision. NORMEIRA does not design or implement the EOMS for certification clients.
What Is ISO 21001 Certification?
ISO 21001:2025 is the current international standard for Educational Organizations Management Systems (EOMS). Published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), it establishes requirements and guidance for organizations that provide education, training or learning services.
The standard helps educational organizations establish a systematic approach for understanding learner and stakeholder needs, defining educational objectives, managing educational products and services, providing appropriate resources, evaluating performance and continually improving the effectiveness of the EOMS.

ISO 21001:2025 replaced ISO 21001:2018 in July 2025. Organizations developing or updating their EOMS should therefore work against the current 2025 edition.

Our ISO 21001 Certification Process
Application and Document Review: You submit your EOMS documentation, including quality policy, program delivery procedures, learner feedback mechanisms, and internal audit records. Our auditors assess readiness before the on-site audit.
Stage 1 Audit (System Readiness Review): Stage 1 evaluates the organization's readiness, scope, key EOMS documentation and relevant system arrangements before Stage 2.
Stage 2 Audit (Certification Audit): NORMEIRA evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of the EOMS against the applicable ISO 21001:2025 requirements. Audit evidence is reviewed across the defined certification scope and any identified nonconformities are formally reported.
Certification Decision: Following completion of the audit process and satisfactory resolution of applicable nonconformities, the certification information is independently reviewed and a certification decision is made according to the certification body's procedures.
Surveillance and Recertification: Your certificate is valid for three years with annual surveillance audits confirming continued compliance throughout the cycle.
